Jacob Burr didn’t allow a single run against Padua Franciscan, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Highland Hornets Freshman Baseball to a 4-0 victory on Wednesday

In the first inning, Highland Hornets Freshman Baseball got their offense started when Aaron Filips doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Highland Hornets Freshman Baseball scored three runs in the second inning. Highland Hornets Freshman Baseball’s offense in the inning came from a single by Ryan McKeen and a groundout by Jacob Conrad.

One bright spot for Padua Franciscan was a single by King in the first inning.

Burr was credited with the victory for Highland Hornets Freshman Baseball. He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on five hits, striking out five and walking one.

Ahmann took the loss for Padua Franciscan. He surrendered four runs on five hits over four innings, striking out four.

Filips, Connor Oviatt, Addison Towne, McKeen, and Burr each collected one hit to lead Highland Hornets Freshman Baseball. Highland Hornets Freshman Baseball stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Burr led the way with two.
