The Highland Middle School Wrestling Team had 12 wrestlers punch their ticket to the OAC JH State Tournament scheduled for March 16-17 in Youngstown. Two wrestlers earned alternate spots but will look to qualify next weekend along with some other wrestlers as well at the Brecksville District.

Joey Vazsonyi earned a District Championship by taking 1st at 114 lbs. Noah Robinson (164 lbs) earned second place honors. Creed Hill (120 lbs), Antony Onopko (138 lbs), Lukas Stiles (176 lbs), and Danny Giannini (209 lbs) all took home 3rd place. Earning 5th place were Ayden Boucher (84 lbs), Joey Zywiec (96 lbs), Mason Wright (126 lbs), Matthew Haney (154 lbs), and Andrew Tatulinski (209 lbs). Rounding out the state qualifiers was Liam Wright (90 lbs). Kegan Prothero (78 lbs) and Michael Mancuso (96 lbs) both took 7th and are state alternates. Also wrestling on the day were Chase Crutchley (102 lbs), Savhon Hollis (108 lbs), Connor Luipold (114 lbs), and Max Muzyczka (154 lbs).
