Highland Hornets Freshman Baseball had a tough time generating runs on Saturday, dropping their game with Normandy 9-2.

Highland Hornets Freshman Baseball opened up scoring in the second inning. Highland Hornets Freshman Baseball scored one run when Billy Murduck singled.

Normandy pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Waite doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run and Ibrahim doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Normandy scored four runs in the sixth inning. George, Ibrahim, Rockow, and Mayers all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Mayers was the winning pitcher for Normandy. He allowed nine hits and two runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

Matt Ramey took the loss for Highland Hornets Freshman Baseball. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and five runs while striking out eight.

Highland Hornets Freshman Baseball collected nine hits on the day. Elliot Good, Addison Towne, and Ramey each collected multiple hits for Highland Hornets Freshman Baseball. Ramey, Towne, and Good each collected two hits to lead Highland Hornets Freshman Baseball.

Normandy collected 15 hits. Mayers, Ford, Ibrahim, George, Waite, and Rockow all managed multiple hits for Normandy. Normandy was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Rockow made the most plays with six. Normandy tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Fleytuta led the way with three.
