Hornets News · HHS Seniors Commit to DIII Colleges


Several Highland High School student-athletes signed their letter of intent on May 10 to attend and play sports for their chosen DIII college or university. Congratulations to the following seniors:

  • Julia Clapper will attend D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY, where she will play tennis and study occupational therapy. She is the daughter of Carl Clapper and Tiffny Trenka of Montville Township.
  • Bradley Staron will attend Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland where he will join the wrestling team and major in computer engineering. He is the son of Mark and Gayle Staron of Hinckley Township.
  • Eli Fragnoli will attend Case Western Reserve University where he will join the track team and pursue a STEM major. He is the son of Brian and Maureen Fragnoli of Hinckley Township.
  • Brenden Meikle, son of Ryan and Nicole Meikle of Sharon Township, will attend the University of Mount Union where he will play baseball and study exercise science.
  • Christian Heini will attend Thiel College in Greenville, PA, where he will play soccer and study exercise science. He is the son of Chris and Barb Heini of Granger Township.
  • Caitlin Donner, the daughter of David and Christine Donner of Hinckley Township, will attend Asbury University in Kentucky where she will join the swim team and study art with an emphasis on photography.
  • Tyler Savron will attend Lake Erie College where he will play baseball and study business and marketing. He is the son of Dave and Dori Savron of Hinckley Township.
  • Vince Manning, son of Neal and Karen Manning of Granger Township, will attend Bowling Green State University where will join the cross-country team and major in finance.
  • Grant Klapwijk, son of Dutch and Kim Klapwijk of Hinckley Township, will attend Baldwin Wallace University where he will play soccer and major in business and marketing.
  • Andras Fabian will attend Baldwin Wallace University where he will play soccer and major in computer science. He is the son of Kari Fabian and Marianna Nemeth of Hinckley Township.
  • Joe Friedl will attend Marietta College where he will play football and major in athletic training. He is the son of James and Karen Friedl of Granger Township.
  • Joey Hammond-Johnson will attend Marietta College where he will play football and major in financial advisory. He is the son of Tammy Hammond, Mike Johnson, Mike Dipolito and Jestene Sheets, all of Sharon Township.
  • Maddie Zelinski will attend John Carroll University where she will join the volleyball team and is currently undecided on her major course of study. She is the daughter of Michelle Zelinski of Montville Township.
  • Avery Finding will attend Ohio Wesleyan University where he will run cross county and study human kinesiology and biology. He is the son of Lina Finding of Hinckley Township and Cory Finding of Broadview Heights.
